Key Terms
The following are key terms as used in this Summary Plan Descriptions:
"At work" means actively working at your regular duties as scheduled in accordance with terms of your collective bargaining agreement, at your employer’s regular place of business or some other place to which your employer’s business requires you to travel.
Dependent" means any one of the following:
- Your lawful spouse
- Any of your unmarried children under age 19
- Any of your unmarried children under age 23, attending school full time.
"Child" includes a stepchild so long as he qualifies as a dependent for Federal income tax purposes; and an adopted child.
"Employee insurance" means insurance to you.
"Dependent insurance" means insurance on your dependent(s).
"He, his and him" means she, her or hers respectively when referring to a female.
"The policy" means the group policy under which the benefits described herein are provided.
"You" means the employee.
"Non–contributory insurance" means insurance for which your employer pays the entire cost.
"Participating employer" means an individual, partnership, corporation, or Board of Trustees, or an organization established or maintained by the Union and who makes the required contributions to the welfare fund in your behalf.
